Established in the early 1900s and is now in its fourth generation, under the stewardship of Ricardo Koyner. Las Brujas farm is on the south side of the Barú volcano, influenced only by the Pacific rains but with a natural canopy shade of tall, old-growth trees that give it shelter. Of the farm’s 80 hectares, 60 remain as virgin jungle bordering the crop. Geisha in this area was selected through 12 generations of seed-bearing plants that came to Panama from CATIE Research Station in 1970.
Among its many accolades, Kotowa Las Brujas’ Natural process Ethiopian Wild Heirloom placed 4th in the Varietals category at the SCAP Best of Panama competition in 2023.
